    Emergency Evacuation Logistics

It's never happened to me, and god-willing it never will, but we live in a weird world.

There have been a few gas leaks in my city lately that necessitated areas to be evacuated for a short time, and once a few years ago, a tanker truck carrying ammonia overturned on the highway and where I was we were under a "potential evacuation" alert or something, though they got the problem contained before that happened.

I am unable to transport dcks at any time; I don't even have a car available during the day while DH is at work. If you don't/can't transport, and were to go under an emergency evacuation (the kind where the cops knock on your door and say, get out NOW!), wth would you do? Would the emergency services people help get everyone out of the area?
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

I had to evacuate because of a gas main break right in front of my home. One of my dcks was 15 feet away from it when the construction equipment hit a 6inch main. Dcb9 and I threw 8 kids, 2 infants, into the back of my pickup and drove to a safe area. I had just my cell phone, no car seats, diapers, or formula. No purse, money or ID. Thank God I had all the parents phone # on my cell. If I had not had the truck we would have had to walk or one of the construction crew would have been helping to transport.
    I see little people.
