    Dear Heat Wave...

You are turning my classroom upside down . With temps 100 or more and heat indexes 110+, you haven't allowed us to be outside more than 5 minutes. We are bored stiff. And we haven't been very nice to each other. We need to run and climb and scream. And have more than three feet between each of us and the next person for a few minutes

    Please go away.

    Thanks.

        I'll fourth this.

        Yeah...it's 11:30 PM and it's still 85 degrees, feels like 96.

I'm planning some pool time for the early AM, like...8. And then possibly movie time...
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

Our pool was 78 degrees tonight...had a lovely swim!

The days are too warm though. Oh well....tomorrow is Friday and than I am open Monday, but will only be getting half my kids as Sunday is Pioneer Day here in Utah and so Monday is a holiday for many of my clients, but not all. I stay open and it's a nice easy day every year.

Has it been unbearable hot that long? Wow, especially having such a long winter it must be hard on the kids. I swear I never know when to believe the news. They said today (The Early Show) that it has only been unabearable like the last 3 days. Your poor kids must be so bored by having to stay in. I know mine our because we have had such cold, lousy mornings here.

This is the hotest, for the longest that any of us can remember.

Well, I have all littles, 20 mos. , 16 mos., 12 mos., and 3 mos. So, they really don't know the difference. I know we have not been below 95 degrees in a month. Most of that time the heat index has been in the 100's. With mine not being able to tell me if they are hot or sick, I just don't take them out. They parents are all in agreement with me.

Yes dear heat wave please go away!!!

My AC is failing and the INSIDE temp was a muggy 88 today while the heat index outside was 106. My whole family promptly jumped in our pool as soon as the kids left! Thank God tomorrow is Saturday and I wasn't asked to watch any kids!

I had parents calling asking why didn't we go swimming today.

Well, gee, if the 115-degree heat index doesn't concern you, then I won't let it bother me either!! Sure, I'll take your asthmatic 3-year-olds out and let the sun beam down on their half-naked bodies for two hours...if that's what you want!

                    Sheesh.

I don't know how you guys are dealing with the heat, but we are going on WEEK 3 in the house!! I'm going so crazy with 4 kids under 2 ( God Bless the people that watch more kids, cause 4 is enough for me!) and it seems they are soooo soo bored.... I try to think of things to do but after a while i'm done.... Yesterday i brought the slide from outside, inside. I"M DONE!! Can you have cabin fever in the summer? That's not supposed to happen in the summer! Ughhhhh HELP!!

                          Dear Heat Wave Up North,

Unlike us here in FL, the rest of the country is not equipped to deal with you! They do not have 9 month long summers and their kiddos weren't raised in a swamp. These ladies up north do not have a Gulf of Mexico sea breeze, nor does it rain every day at 4pm either. Please go away! We can handle it in FL, but others can't.

Actually, it has NEVER been over 100 in this part of SW FL, so I'm not sure I could deal with 110 either. but you know what I can deal with? NEVER seeing snow ever again! (Unless on vacation in Utah! Hint hint Meeko06) LOL! Just kidding!

Ok, this is week 4 of the heat wave and its going to be over 100 degrees today! I"VE HAD IT! I'm bored with keeping the kids occupied, the kids are bored from being trapped inside with the same things. I've got to get out or i'll go crazy! How do you guys deal with the 4 weeks of heat? I have all little ones, so art (which i love doing) is being coming hard. They eat the crayons, playdoh and even the paintbrushes. *sigh*

One thing I did (mine are all under 20 mos), is to rearrange my den. I just swapped ends for the room with the glider chair and the loveseat. But this forced me to move the toy bins to all along one side, under the tv. I also cut down on the toys when I did this. It has made clean up easier and they thought they were in a whole new place!
