    Birthday Parties

Do you go to birthday parties of your the kids in your care?

How do you feel about staff members of a daycare center attending a child's birthday party?

Do you think they should attend if invited?

I've gone to most parties that I've been invited to. One family had their parties in an area of LA that I wasn't comfortable with, so I never went.

I go and it's never really fun for me as I have to stay in provider mode. I never get personal and a bday party is as personal as I get...

As for an assistant. I would probably not allow that to happen
      1. If they misrepresented them self it's a reflection of me
      2. I would fear they would try to take clients business away for their own benefit.

Since my only assistants have been my daughters and my niece, I wouldn't have a problem.

It was never frowned upon at my center but the staff was usually invited because some of the staff had kids that were in the DCK's class. It seemed like every classroom at any given year had a teacher's kid in it. So if you invite that teacher you invite all the teachers. Never had an awkward moment and the parents never expected us to "work" at them but I've worked with a couple people that really "show off" at them things
