I had an interview on Monday evening at 6 and let them know if they didn't confirm then I would make other plans, around 5:15 I get a call saying dad didn't check his email but can they come anyway, the answer is no because I had plans and so interview rescheduled for this evening at 6, receive an email at 11 to cancel, now its scheduled tomorrow at 6. I am trying to give this family the benefit of the doubt but the miscommunication or whatever is already annoying. I am not rescheduling a 4th time if they don't show tomorrow. I do tidy up the house and the yard for interviews but have long ago learned not to go over the top especially since I have had numerous no shows. I figure if they like it then cool, if not then whatever. I don't want to put forth something and then have them be upset that every day at pickup the house is not the same perfection and such (had this issue one time, DC parents were upset when the house wasn't spotless). this is also a family that is wanting flexibility with the days of care and I am getting the feeling that flexibility actually means "we come and go whenever we want and you have to deal with it".
what do you think?

I would interview them if they actually keep the appointment, because things DO happen to us all. If they NCNS or try to reschedule I would decline.
I have set policies and don't waver. If you have set policies and they want to do something that does not match with the service you are willing to provide then you are not the provider for them.- Flag

I agree with PP. Continue with the interview (if they keep it). If they cancel again, just thank them for their time and tell them that you offered the spot to someone that you already interviewed.
I had a lady contact me in early June. We set up a day to meet in early July. She cancelled and asked to reschedule to that Thursday. On Thursday I had a horrible migraine. We finally were able to meet the next Monday.
She was super impressed and scheduled a second interview for next Monday.
You never know what might come out of it.- Flag
