    I Already Regret It :P

But really...after over a week of weather too hot to go outside, when my two dcbs started running in circles in the middle of the playroom, far from anything they could get hurt on (besides each other), I gritted my teeth and am letting them do it. Hopefully they'll wear themselves out and sleep well. It's been an effing long morning...

if my 6 week ds will just fall asleep, I'd probably shove the others into suits and go outside with them to run in the sprinkler. But so far DS isn't asleep and soon there's not going to be time.

I'm just going for it today and we are going outside! It is only 55-58 degrees and everyone is in shorts but they are going nuts and so am I. If it starts raining it starts. I refuse to stay inside all summer long. They are getting soooo bored and don't want to play with the toys, watch tv, do crafts, etc. They want to go outside. I guess also I don't have to slather on the sunscreen with our weather either. I saw that 22 people have died from the heatwave.

The biggest problem for me with the heat is a) I don't have shorts so I will be much too hot, b) my 6 week old is too little to be out when it feels like 96 at 10 AM and c) two of my kiddos aren't verbal enough to tell me if they are hot/thirsty/don't feel well.

And if you're curious, I don't have shorts because the stores are dumb and seem to quit selling shorts at the beginning of July (seriously...I can't find any and I live in the midwest...) and we seem to have lost the box that contains my regular (non-maternity) clothes. I don't even know if my regular shorts would fit right now, but I can't even find out since the darn box disappeared.

CK, Can you believe this weather? I love the sunshine, but hate the heat. I just wish the sun would make an appearance. With this strange weather, my concern is that next month we will have a massive heat wave.

Oh you know the first day of school it will be 100 degrees and like that for the next 2 months. I so have a feeling our kids won't have a summer this year and it really makes me sad. We live for the summer here!

I live in the midwest and Kohls still has them. I bought a new pair last weekend! Target and Walmart are both still selling too. I'm slowing acquiring some new back to school clothes for my kiddos. They usually don't stop carrying shorts until late August.

I know. It really stinks. I finally invested in a huge water slide and it's still sitting in the box. Well, hopefully it will heat up enough that we can use it this year.

You could also try JC Penny. I have 3 pair of St. John's Bay Performance shorts. DS is 5 months old and regular shorts still don't fit right (I'm in between sizes). These aren't the prettiest things, but they do the job and are comfy & light weight.

I desperately need to try stuff on right now though. I am 6 weeks postpartum, 5 pounds higher than my pre-pregnancy weight, but my lowest weight during the pregnancy was 20 pounds lower than where I am now. I am NOT a small person, which is a large part of the issue finding stores that have the clothes I need.

I seriously just checked Target, Kohls, and Meijer in the past week...maybe the ones near me are just dopey.

Money is the other issue...there just isn't much of it atm.

we are going swimming in my big pool. All the parents have said, all the kids talk about is how they get to go swimming in the big pool (above ground) its the highlight of the summer with the kids. I even have the little kiddie pool set up. I find that when the kids are wet its not that hot for them. My pool is 87 degrees how crazy is that.

Try Land's End online. They just posted a huge warehouse sale online. I bet you can find their cotton knit shorts or capris at least at a decent price. And they last, so 2 pairs should get you through. When they no longer fit, take your receipt to Sears and exchange them for new ones. Devious, yes. But sometimes you just have to do it. They have a no questions, any condition, return policy.

We used to keep empty gallon milk jugs filled with water in the deep freezer and throw them in the pool on days like this! Giant ice cubes! ::::::
