I Feel So Bad For Teething Kiddos....

now that I'm teething myself! Poor babies. How do they handle teething all those teeth. I can't handle the one now.

Seriously, I have a wisdom tooth coming in, at age 33 no less. The top 2 were never supposed to come in according to the oral surgeon who took the other 2 out 15 years ago. No room, not straight and I can't chew anything. Went from fine to intense pain in less than 24 hours and I can't be seen for an eval until Aug. 31st. I want to cry.

Oh, man, I'm so sorry! I can't believe they can't get you in for over a month! Have you tried go to your regular dentist for an emergency...maybe they could get you in faster.

Re: the teething kiddos, I have heard that if grown-ups had to teethe the way babies do we'd be in the ER begging for morphine. Not sure how accurate that is though.

I worry that someday I'll have two wisdom teeth trying to come in--I only ever had two grow as a teenager and they were removed surgically because they were both impacted. I do worry sometimes that the missing two might show up...
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

I remember my wisdom teeth trying to come in when I was about 19. I remember telling my mum that I felt sorry for teething babies! I got married as soon as I turned 20 and was moving to the USA, so my mum whipped out my wisdoms for me before I came over here and had to pay for it!

Thanks! If I could get this tooth out I would! It's worse than I thought. Infected into my jaw. Thankfully my son's EI teacher called her surgeon and they can see me in 10 days. In the meantime, they gave me an antibiotic and will call if he has any opening at all between now and then. This is torture.

My mom (hospital dental surgeon) had me put damp, very warm (as hot as I could stand it) compresses on the side of my face. It worked better than any medication.

Soak a washcloth or small towel in water, ring it out until damp and put in the microwave for about a minute (depending on your micro) Have it as hot as you can stand without burning yourself and hold it to your face and jaw. It was sooo comforting...the pain would just disappear for a while.

I feel for you...hope you get to feeling better very soon. Toothache is miserable.

            You poor thing.

I'm glad you're on antibiotics. That (and some Tylenol) should ease the pain a bit.
