Yes. Just last year. Dcm was living in crisis housing and it was the best option her at that time.

I work closely with a program that serves families who are coming out of drug/alcohol addictions and are often homeless and without family. The program refers many clients to me. SOme stay long term while others are only temporary.

Yes. Took several dozen calls to CPS and a 3 year investigation along with my 3.5 inch folder of documentation to finally get something done. A truly heart-breaking situation that has worked out but resulted in restraining orders (by me to dc family) and a somewhat dis-illusioned and jaded view of our family court system.

Nope.

Yes. Sadly a couple of times. See above.

I answered in red text above. Also, almost 95% of the above issues have been directly related to the community program I work with so as far as simply having these issues come up with regular families...my answers would be completely different.

...a family that the woman is being domestically abused?Yes, and I helped a Mom escape it

...a homeless family?no, but I would be willing to help one should they come to me

...a child and had to report suspected child abuse?yes, and it was very difficult, but I KNOW I saved a child, so it was worth the stress

I only ask because they are controversial topics and I'm curious how any of these issues may have affected you personally, the child and your business.

How well do you know the people that you work for?

I spent the morning doing background checks on my parentsand some of the results floored me! Most of my families are law abiding, tax paying citizens. Clearly some of them are awful drivers and have a lead foot! :: There were a few small claims charges, there was one domestic abuse charge! Granted it was 11 years ago but still!!!

Some backgrounds you have to pay for, having an uncle that's a private investigator helps, but I primarily use a website the state has to view court cases online. It's free and it's all public record!

Nothing that has landed her in any trouble but she's definitely a partier and I don't see it being much longer before she winds up with a charge...OWI, DWI, Public Intox, etc.

Yes, and I reported, they yanked her, took her to microchips, they reported her too. Child was removed from home, dad beat mom, and died from meth overdose.

No to all but the above. I didn't like the father, thought he was a jerk but didn't know he was verbally/emotionally abusive to his wife and kids until after they had left my care.
