I was out front taking out trash when a lady stopped and asked if I did daycare. She had gone across the street, but they wouldn't answer the door.

We have an interview on Sunday.

She has a little girl that is 8 and needs care for the rest of the summer.

I've got my fingers crossed that she calls on Sunday.

Thank you. There are too many home daycares in this area. It's hard to pick up kids.

I hear ya. There are an unbelievable amount of stay at home moms in my area trying to make extra money by taking just one or two kids. Some of them charge as little as $90 a week and the norm is $125-$150. Its almost impossible to compete with that when some many parents care about the rate first and foremost over everything else.

What is so frustrating, is these moms that lost their jobs and are trying to start up a fly by night daycare, are probably doing it illegally. As you can not legally collect unemployment and work another job, you are limited to a small % of extra money that you can make, like maybe 20/25% of your unemployment.
