Scary Happening This Morning

My screamer was really at it this morning, and wouldn't nap, so after a while, I decided to just get him up and we all were getting ready to go outside. I was putting sunscreen on him and noticed he had BLOOD coming out of his right ear! BLOOD! He has a history of ear infections and has just had his second set of tubes put in and still had an ear infection diagnosed the other day. DCD came and got him and took him to the hospital. Thinking maybe his eardrum ruptured? You just don't expect to have blood coming out of an ear!!! I am waiting for mom and dad to text me to let me know how he's doing. Poor buddy!

It was bright red blood. There was some wax in with it. They just called. They said it was just super inflamed around the tubes. No rupture or anything. I have never heard of anything like this, but they said it was nothing to worry about! Thank goodness!

When the tube ruptures it is like the pain just goes away.The Doctors say it is instant relief. It is nasty when it ruptures though. I have had several ruture in different kids though out the years.....

I have a kid that that happened to...I got him up from nap and noticed blood on the sheet. I almost panicked, then I noticed gobs of semi-dried blood coming from his ear. Turns out he jumped off the bed the night before with the Q-tip in his ear, but dcm didn't tell us at drop off

My husband rushed my DD to the ER once cause of that. Come to find out when she had tried cleaning her ears herself she got some cotton stuck in her ear and then it got super infected! They cleaned it up and gave her antibiotics and eardrops. But it is scary!
