    Infant Schedules

After reading another thread, I got to thinking. So many of you mentioned how easy it is to schedule babies. I thought it would be interesting to see "how" you all do that.

How about it folks? How do YOU get your babies on a regular schedule and at what ages do you start?

I attempt to get them on the other kids schedules right away just by doing the same routine day after day after day. I feed (or try to except in the case of my bf baby) them at the same general times as the other kids. Just lots and lots of repetition.

Mine is still pretty young for a schedule, but he seemed ready since his parents kind of had him on a schedule anyway. He was sleeping and eating at the same times when he got here, so after he was a bit older, I just changed him to the schedule I have my son on. Same feeding, nap and playtimes everyday. Seems to be working well.

My babies start at 11-12 months because of the year mat leave in Canada. I normally have spots filled months in advance so the families are aware of my schedule and start trying to match up to my naptimes about a month before the baby starts care. This helps considerably with the transition.

Once they start I try and keep the same schedule as the other kids or as close as possible with the baby's needs being met. It normally only takes me 2 weeks or so to have them totally on my schedule. The only allowances I make for babies in the schedule is sticking in extra feedings if they need it. The 12 month old I have now NEEDS a snack at about 4:30 pm so I just take her aside and give her a little something. If the other kids notice or ask I just say babies need extra snacks because their bodies are working so hard to grow and give the other kids a couple of crackers so they don't spoil their dinner.

The first day they are here, I feed babies between 730&830, then we do reading, learning, etc with the olders. I feed babies 1030-1130 then feed big kids, I nap everyone then, I do snack between 230&3 then bottle the babies after. If a baby is hungry between feedings I will feed. But they are always offered a bottle at the same times. Takes a few days and they fall into the schedule

I just put up a link to an old thread here, but it said it had to be moderated

How do you do it, and do you have any tips?!!! I just posted about interviewing potential clients because I'm looking for two more, which would bring my total (including my own child) up to 4--the legal max for me. My son is a year old and my full-timer is about 8 months old, and I've decided to keep the group as close in age

I wonder if it was the wording? You had originally just said "Look at (link)."....and most spam seems to read that way with "Look at...." being the beginning. I don't really know but that is my best educated guess....

But, I just deleted it....so you wouldn't have a duplicate post.
