    Pull up at naps?

A 3yo boy is potty trained but at night he still wears pull ups (and apparently wets them each night).

He used to come later in the day and never really napped...just laid there. Now he is getting up earlier and actually sleeping during nap time, having accidents quite frequently. He goes pee RIGHT before he sleeps but it still doesn't help (about 60% of the time)

Mom asked if she should send in a pull up. My instinct is no, because no other kids are in diapers and I can see that being a social nightmare for the kid. Any thoughts?

I'd put him in one. Is there a way you can just switch it in the bathroom without the others knowing?

IMO I would put him in a pullup. just help him in the bathroom.
My own son is 5.5 yrs and he still has to wear pull ups at night. i also make him pee before bed, i wake him up at 11pm and again at 3am and he still wakes up soaked. not sure why, he has no drinks past 6pm, and the doctor wont even touch him until he is over 6. It may also be genetic, my hubby and niece on his side were late nightime potty trainers!

I have a 5 yr old dcb that does great when he's awake but still does a pull up at night and naps.

He just changes in the bathroom before nap.

Rather than deal with the mess every day, I would just very quietly so that the other kids didn't see or hear put a pull up on him. Don't make an issue of it, just make it part of his routine. Remind him that it's no big deal and that he will grow out of it.

We have children as old as 5 that still need a diaper or pull up at naptime even though they go to the bathroom right before. It won't be a social nightmare unless you let it be that way. It's no biggie, some children just sleep so soundly at naptime and bedtime that they don't even wake if they wet themselves.

I'd rather put him in a pull up (so long as HE's not opposed) than have to clean up urine everywhere. 3 is still young - I didn't even potty train my youngest until 3 1/2. Better to put him in a pull up than curtail his liquids this time of year. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Diapers/Pull Up's until accident free 2 weeks in my care.

No exceptions barring illness, at which time they would be sent home.

I'd put him in a pull up. I think it's more embarassing for a child to wake up wet and have to parade to the bathroom, no matter how discreet you try to be, to change their clothes.

                He's 3. It's not like you're putting a pull up on a 10 year old.

You know since he wears pull ups at night time he should be ok with wearing them at nap time. With the other kids; if there older, you just wouldn't draw any attention to it by switching into one in the bathroom just before nap time. He shouldn't fuse about it. And if he does you just tell him its to protect him and the bed so neither gets wet. They seem to understand that and not fuss to much. They get used to it until they grow out of potty at naps.
