Different between Group and Family Home?

Tennessee Licensing has a few different categories including Group Home Childcare, Family Home Childcare, and Childcare Center.

I've read through the regulations of both Group and Family several times and I can't find any differences between the two except the ratio of Group is 1:15 where as Family is 1:7. I'm planning to get licensed in Family as soon as I can.... but do any of you happen to know the difference in the two?

Not sure about Tennessee, but here the difference between group care and family care is that in group care the licensee/employees must have an ECE. In family care we don't.

I am group in Utah. Only difference here is that I must have an assistant when I reach over ratio for one person and both providers must have all the training hours etc.

It looks like Group settings have to have a few more training hours. I have a CDA so I'm qualified for both to be operating it (even without the CDA I'm qualified). Hm.
