    What Should I Charge?

I am going to start babysitting in my home and am wondering what I should charge for Full Time, Part Time, Multiple Child Familes and Before/After School. I am in Southern Indiana (Jeffersonville). I want to be affordable but have it worth my time.

For example I have a family wanting me to watch their two daughters. They are 3 and 4. They want me to keep them Mon, Tue, Thur and Fri each week from 6:30am -3:30am. They will have me watch both for the summer and in the fall I will only have the three year old because the 4 year old will be 5 and going to kindergarten. I am really not sure what to charge.

I would be providing all meals.

    Any thoughts

You should check out your local center pricing on child care fees and look on Craigslist in your area. If you're going to babysit--meaning just for this one family--then I would charge a higher rate because it's one on one.

Did you say the hours right? 6:30 am-3:30 pm......maybe that is what you meant.

I would suggest calling around to other daycare centers and seeing what they charge for ft and pt. Then maybe go below that rate by 5 or 10 bucks.
