Does Anyone Send This Out After 2 Week Trial?

Does anyone send out a progress type report when the two week trial is up? I have siblinigs that I'm not sure if I can handle anymore. I think they need somewhere with more than one provider. It's been 3 weeks (this week is first full week so next week I was going to make my decision).

All my other kids seem to be acting up all week too I think to gain my attention since the siblings are taking so much of it.

I have never done a progress report. I write in my concrat that I or parent can terminate the contract at any time within the first two weeks. After that, I have to give them 30 day notice and same for them.

I have on 2 ocassions at the two week point came to a family and said, little johnny is still having a hard time adapting to the group, I would like to extend your trail for another two weeks. Both times I ended up terming the families.

If you really think that you cant do it, then you need to let the parents know as soon as possible that they are having a hard time adapting to the group. Maybe if you let the parents know, they would be able to assist you in some way. If they are blind to it they won't be able to help you. Now on the other hand, if the parents won't help you, then term.

I know what you are dealing with, I am gong through the same thing right now. I have a boy with severe ADHD and most of my attention is focused on him, so the other kids start acting up in hopes of getting my attention....

All I can say is thank god tomorrow is friday...

I either have a talk with the parents on the last day of 2 week trial, but most families are rushing to get in and out and often it slips my mind. so I like to send out a little typed up report that just states how the child has adjusted, any behavioral issues if there are, etc. the progress they've made since they started and anything else i feel is important to touch on.
I then have a spot for parents to sign if they would like to continue, or if they'd like to withdraw from care.

It would depend on whether I was continuing care or not. If I was terminating after the trial period I wouldn't bother and just tell them it isn't working out. Of course if they ask I'd tell them specifics. If I was going to continue care I think it would be a good idea to let the parents know how things are going and how to improve.
