    What? No nugget group?

I don't agree with this for the most part.

    It's misleading.

Grains should be worded as WHOLE grains. We need to quit pretending it's not completely true.

You don't need milk every meal and when you have it IMHO it should be whole organic full fat milk.

Fruit isn't necessary every meal. Veggies should be the half the plate in most meals.

Beans should take up more of the plate when it's the protein serving.

They say "low fat" for the milk but they don't bother to say low sugar or sweetened food.

The plate should have "no processed food" at least ten times all around the perimeter of it.

This had to have been approved by Big Ag. It carefully omits the most important things.

I totally agree. Way too simple with important info missing for sure.

I agree it's very simple, but I think that's the point. All other things aside, if the average person used the basics of this plate to plan their meals, they would probably be better off.

I do agree that it should mention the importance of fresh food.

            Wow!!!

A lot of families would starve without a nugget, macaroni & cheese, and pizza category!

            What's fruit again?! ::::::

I wonder if the schools will start using this. I don't know about anyone else but I'm pretty tired of seeing my kids being served chicken nuggets and corndogs!

              wow this is horrible...

I think that went it is geared towards children for some reason they seem to think that all children eat is junk food.

I too hate the chicken nugget and corn dogs. My kids dont eat that stuff. the thing is, if they went outside the box, they would be supprised what kids will eat. For example yesterday I was eating seaweed and brown rice. The DCK asked if they could try it. Guess what they had for snack, yup brown rice and seaweed....

Who came up with the term kid friendly food? Thats just another name for crap food.... sorry, but I think it is...

We don't eat out much, but when we do, I look at the childrens menu and it always has the same junk
              pizza
              mac cheese
              corn dog
              chicken stips
and they all come served with fries........................gross I wouldnt pay for that...........
