Fisher Price Rock n Play Sleeper.....

    I'm thinking I need this.

Not until the end of summer... but, it looks like the perfect sleeper for my newest ones. I'll get one infant in September, and the other one in January or February. That way, the first little one will graduate to a crib and the second one will get the sleeper.

Has anybody used this? We don't have any restrictions on what the babies sleep in. Well, we have restrictions, just not anything wild, like Michigan or some other states I've heard of.

I have used this before...it is wonderful! But once they get to be about 3-4 months old, they are too big for it. Since they are able to lean forward and when the "try" to sit up, it can become dangerous.

But I recommend it for newborns, better than a bassinet.

That's good to know! Both babies will be two months when they start.. so, maybe it wont be a good investment for me? I'd never thought of that.. and, it's two feet off the ground too, so I'd never be able to relax if I thought they could tip it over.

It would be, if you plan on having newborns again. It is very sturdy, so it would last a long time. I am not sure about all 4 month olds, but my baby is 4 months, and he is constantly trying to sit up when he is laying down.

The belt buckle is only around the waist. No matter how snug I have it, he still would try to lean forward, so we had to stop using it.

honestly, this is the one that saved my life. and it's a toddler rocking chair as well. you can pull the leg out so it doesn't rock, and the babies can lay in it.

i have never seen the first one. i had the second one but never had much luck with it. the babies here like their swings and bouncers and I move them to pack n plays as soon as they can roll over.

Babies should only sleep on their backs, flat, with no blankets. Please follow safe sleep guidelines, even if your state doesn't require it. SIDS doesn't give a damn about state lines or licensing guidelines. It strikes ANY WHERE. It is not prejudiced or predictable. Please follow the newest and best practices to prevent it. Every day, every baby.

with my 2nd child (first son) he cried non stop for the first 3 months. I couldn't get more than half hour of sleep a night. One night we were at friends out of town and she had an older version of this chair and said try it...

i did, he was a perfect angel that night. these friends bought me this chair and i was able to do dishes during the day and pay bills and such without having to hold him. and he did sleep in it during the day, but not at night. although not for daycare kids, i realize they cannot sleep in these.
regular bouncer chairs were garbage because of the weight of the babies not able to recline it enough, and they would constantly flop over and i'd have to adjust them.

with my 3rd child (2nd son), he had pyloric stenosis when he was a baby (and almost 2 months premie btw), and i was told to sleep him in his carseat, especially let him sit for an hour after a feeding to help gravity keep the food in his tummy. well the car seat was so hard to keep him in a good spot, and the buckles were always in the way, not to mention it was hard to wash the carseat covers and buckles 20 times a day because he's throw up all over them. this chair had enough of a recline that he could keep the food down longer, and still be able to sleep. he had to sleep in this chair (approved by the doctor) for the first few months of life, right beside my bed, because i had a fear he would choke in his crib, and it was a complete reality for us, that we could go in his room and he wouldn't be alive, because he would throw up enough to create a puddle.

i also loved this chair because the big kids even can sit in it as a rocker (till about 3 yo?) and they like it.

We had 2 of those for our girls, who are almost 3 years apart. I miss ours. Of course I sold it before I decided to quit teaching and do DC.

I have that too. I've never tried it for a sleeping infant though, but it gets so much use around here that next fall, I'm thinking about buying one or two more.
