I have a pay on Friday rule too, but mine is so that the friday they pay for the UPCOMING week's care. So that way if they forget Friday (which has never happend- knock on wood) they have the weekend to bring in, or monday, but still with late fees. No payment (plus fees) on Monday? No stay. I also have parents sign in and out every day.

I have everyone pay on Monday morning for that coming week's care. Very rarely one will forget but its not a big deal here. None of my families take advantage of this, thank goodness. I would rather them bring it the next day then just stop by at random at the house because then their little one would get upset when they left again. heck all the kids get upset when any of the parents show up!

KEG, I have them pay for the upcoming week as well. I have two families who are never late. This one, though, is an ongoing problem.

I really hate hearing all the problems so many of you have getting paid. It makes me very thankful of my parents and how they pay.

This is where sign in sheets step in and work wonders. In our state we are required to have the parents sign the child in at the exact time each and every day and same for sign out at pick up. U could simply start this with all parents and no longer have this problem. If she isn't signed in then she isn't in your care by law. I use them when I have private paying clients as well just to cover my own rear. What if a child were to run out in the street and get hit by a car. (God forbid) The parent could say she was still in your care but if u have a sign in sheet showing she was signed out at 4:46 pm then it is not your responsiblilty.

I can send u a copy of our state sign in sheets if u like. Then she will have to come face to face!

Oh and this would also solve any issues in case a parent tries the old "no johnny was only here 4 days last week" been there too!

You are lucky....today two families FORGOT to pay, one decides kids will be picked up during nap time....I had my backbone ready on that one though and told them no....IT'S IN THE CONTRACT for crying out loud. Last fam at drop off told me what I should do today with the kids! I always have a detailed agenda for the kids that includes structure/no structure time/eating/rest. I HATE TODAY!!!!
