The stairs going downstairs to the daycare really took a beating so DH installed a runner.

About keeping the door open forever in the morning to say goodbye. I do have one child that seems to want to take a long time witht he door wide open to give mommy many kisses and hugs and more hugs and kisses before dcm leaves.

Over the weekend I created a sign, almost like a chore chart for each child. There are only 3 things that I ask of them on this list before they can get a star placed on it.

1). GOOD NIGHT- did you go right to bed with out waking mommy or daddy up last night?

2). GOOD MORNING - Did you arrive this morning with a happy smile giving (one) kiss and hug to mommy and daddy without whining or crying?

3). NAP TIME - Did you take a good nap without waking any other children?

I'll let you know how rule number 2 works for this particular child tomorrow.

What she said......either that or attach a bill for cleaing services to his childcare bill. Include time and labor and maybe he will get the point or pay up!! I have the leaving the door open problem sometimes but I try to handle it with a little humor and say things like "I know you weren't born in a barn, so could you close the door so I don't have to heat the entire yard!" Most laugh and go "Oops, sorry" and then shut the door. It is like they are all so oblivious sometimes!!
