I did e-mail the parents the revised copy above. Thanks JenNJ!
I did add that I was willing to forego pay over Christmas, we had discussed them paying me for that 1 1/2 weeks even though I would not provide care. I just let them know I was willing to give that up in order to have the slightly higher wage each week. Will keep you posted. Keeping my fingers crossed.- Flag

Update on e-mail sent!
Thank you again for all the advice you offered. I went ahead & sent the e-mail leaving out all the personal reasons. I made sure to let them know I was still very enthusiastic about working with their family. The mom wrote back & very sweetly told me that the pay amount I asked for would be okayI am still feeling silly about asking, I hated doing it but I would hate it even more if I went into the job making less & feeling like I was working for peanuts. Anyway. . . now I feel like things are settled & I can enjoy a relaxing summer (in a week) with my kids knowing I have a job set in stone this fall. I'm excited about getting out of the house. The past year or so I have felt like I needed to step away from in-home childcare. Working FT at it is not my forte. That's why I am so happy about this job b/c it will give me the chance to still do what I love but have some time off wach week too
Thank you again for your advice ladies, you are the greatest!!!!- Flag
