    Interview Questions

I'm having my first "true" interview tonight. When I started 1 1/2 years ago, I started with the current 3 and knew all the parents. This is my first "outside" interview. She is due in July with the first child. Coming at 6pm, my time.

Just wondering what sort of things you guys ask about. Obviously, I will go over the contract and policies.

Plan to ask, Work hours, work days (I know it will be 4 days a week). I know I'm going to talk up front about plansto discipline, and how I do it. Also plan to discuss, NOT holding the baby 24/7, and breastfeeding or bottle.

Any questions or items to be sure to discuss??

    Thanks In advance!

How they plan on putting the baby to sleep. Whether the baby will be sleeping in a crib from the get go or not. If they plan on using a baby carrier--because if they do, this might impact their child's expectation of how much it should be held. Whether they plan on sleep training at the appropriate time or not. I basically try to find out how high maintenance the child either is or will become based on the parent's habits. If they hold it in a baby carrier constantly and never let it fuss, that may end up being troublesome for you. If they hold it a normal amount and let it get used to fussing a bit and eventually learn to self-soothe at the appropriate age, then the baby will be much happier in a daycare setting in the long run.
