    Boogie Wipes????

There was a thread where we were talking about the types of kleenex etc that everyone uses. And some were very strict on the type of kleenex they use.

Well one of my dcm's came one day with this wipe packet that said boogie wipes. They are saline wipes! They come in 3 scents- grape, menthol and the other i think is cucumber or something (can't remember now).

Anyways, I ended up picking a package up at the pharmacy (they sell them at walmart in pharmacy area here, and other drug stores). They are a little expensive, about $4 for 30 wipes, but the wipes are so big that I know I'm cutting them in half, maybe even cutting each wipe twice.

Has anyone else tried them? I certainly love them! I will still use my regular store brand kleenex for little bits of boogers, but the wipes are handy for the crusted noses and peeling noses with major colds, especially when we are out. Because regular kleenex does not wipe away the crusties in public, and when you don't have water to use when you're out somewhere.

I never heard of them, but I would love them if a dcp brought them for me. I use whatever kleenex that I can price match, is on sale or have a coupon for. For crusties I use baby wipes.

yeah at home I usually just use the kleenex, or a wet washcloth for the crusty noses.

but when I'm out i've always used either dry kleenex or wipes. But I honestly think that the wipes burn the cracked/peeling noses (when it's a bad cold and they've been blowing constantly).

The saline wipes are soothing for the nose (I tried them myself). And I love the scent on them too. I'm a scent girl, and anything that smells good is my best friend.

Boogie Wipes are made with saline to dissolve boogies (mucus) caused by the common cold, allergies or otherwise booger-filled kid moments.

They also sell them larger in the canisters for commercial uses like daycares, doctors offices etc.

I use them all the time!! They are gentle on the nose and really get rid of those dried on boogies , plus my son had so many colds this winter that his skin around his nose would bleed and the boogie wipes were soft enough that his nose wouldn't bleed after using them. At Costco they have a box of them that you can get it comes with 2 packs of 30 wipes and plus 30 or 35 single wipes for $9.99 it lasts me a long time.

whoops, sorry elle, I hit edit by accident!

              i meant to hit quote...

I will definitely check out costco on those, sounds like a great deal.

I cut each wipe 1 or 2 times, so mainly I get 4 wipes out of each wipe because the kids I have are all so tiny. Using 1 whole wipe would be a waste. So ultimately I get 120 wipes out of a 30 pack.

                have them

I have them! I like them, but only use them for crusty boogies. The wet snot just wipes around on their face if I don't use a dry tissue.

Waste of $$, IMHO. No offense, but I always find it amazing what people will shell out money for. Need to blow your nose? Go get some toilet paper. Crusty nose? Get the paper wet.

(Sorry if it sounds snarky, I am kind of crabby today.)

I love them. A box from Sam's Club lasts me all winter. They are so much gentler on little noses than rough tissue or tp.

BusyBee generally I am a tight wad, and won't buy stuff, because I believe I can make whatever it is they sell. LOL. I use wipes, wet cloths, kleenex etc. And I buy the cheapest kleenex normally, although I am considering switching to a tougher brand.

I always watch for deals etc.

But I like the saline wipes because I hate having to spray the saline, and it definitely does work.

Majority of my butt wipes I buy are for face washes, hand washes, quick cleanups of other things, I basically use wipes as a wet cloth. But I like the smaller more compact packaging of the saline wipes for wiping the face/boogies.

Has anyone used a baby wipe on their own sore nose or bottom? Those things BURN!

I'm going to check those out...Im out of unscented wipes, so all I have left are these sickly-sweet smelling ones, and I know it must be unpleasant to have your nose and mouth wiped with them.

I always tear the wipes in half anyway.

We just use warm wash cloths for everything. I don't use wipes for anything but their rear end.

I do a load of rags every day. i use cheapo laundry soap for the rags.

I have each parent bring a couple of boxes of Kleenex when they enroll. That will be enough to last them for the five years they are here
