    Thunderstorms

We are having a thunderstorm right now. 2 of my toddlers are sleeping and haven't been disturbed, yet. My 2 year old could care less or 9 month old Dc. Just curious how your kids react to thunderstorms.

My kids get nervous before the storm starts but usually don't even notice when it is actually happening. I try not to mention anything about it but since I have older kids they will ask and then I just say "maybe".

We just got our second round of marble sized hail during the middle of nap. Two of them slept through it, two of them woke up scared. I took turns rubbing their backs lightly to put them at ease until the storm passed.

Usually, if they are awake and playing; they hardly notice. Our first round of hail happened during play time, and they liked looking at the window watching it bounce off the grass.

When it thunders, my day care kids giggle and say
        "God's moving furniture again!"

My city kids are wussy! Lol we have been studying storms and I showed them a lighting storm on YouTube. Two of them cried and one parent reported nightmares. Lol. It was just a two min video.

I don't know if we have ever had a thunderstorm here or not.

Mine say God's taking pictures of us when it starts lightning.

For the most part, my kiddos don't care about storms. There are a few who freak out a little, but when their parents come to pick them up in the middle of the storm, freaking out themselves, it's obvious where they get that behavior.

Personally, I am TERRIFIED of storms, mainly because I live in a place where we have TERRIBLE ones every year..In 2006 my cousin's house got totally demolished, and she and her hubby got thrown on top (luckily) of the debris.
They were badly cut up, but alive, unlike their neighbor. Since then, I hate storms...

BUT...my daycare kids would NEVER know how scared I am. We talk about how thunder is just a sound, just like clapping, and that lightning won't hurt you unless it comes to the ground. Most of them always sleep through any storms we ever have, and if they don't they just cuddle with me until they fall back to sleep.
