We back into a greenbelt wooded area with a creek. In the summer, we don't see too many of them but we can HEAR them. Quite honestly, it's kind of like a white noise sound, a constant buzzing like a fan. I kind of like it, it's relaxing!

We do encounter those exoskeletons on our porch and in our backyard though. They molt, and leave their exoskeletons behind so they can grow. I have a degree in Biology, option in Zoology and didn't really like bugs until I had to take a class on Entomology. I really have quite a fondness for bugs now.

I think we have the June bugs too, they are fat and fly into you
That picture makes them look way cuter than they really are.

one time i was driving home from the cabin and a june bug got in my pant leg, and was flying around inside my pant leg. I nearly went off the road I was screaming so loudly. dh had to grab the wheel .

there is some sort of bug, we call them snappers, but i dont' know their actually name. They have long antenna's and they chase you! they sting/bite you REALLLLLLLY HARD and it's very painful, they snap their antennas together and that's why we call them snappers. They are scary.
