    Renovating ... Nervous & Excited

Every year around this time we take on a room in our home to renovate and update, this year it's the kitchen. We had originally decided to redo the windows to the whole house only as our windows are encased in metal from the 1970's and are just awful but then we noticed some molding under our kitchen sink from a small leak in our dishwasher and so one project turned into two. We are now doing both the windows AND the kitchen.

I'm excited and nervous however because my hunny-bunny usually bites off more than he can chew. In order for me to be able to run my DC and not close during the process the kids and I have to take an extra long outing while they do the two first floor windows. I'm hoping they can get it done in 2 hours (which my DH has promised me) but I'm thinking it unlikely. The plan is to give the kids their snack at 9:00am, go to the park for 2 hours, be back at noon for lunch (windows done downstairs), have nap from 12-2pm (no construction) then they can work upstairs for the rest of the day. Thats the plan. We will see how that goes .

How exciting!!!! We gutted and rewired plumbed and finished our bathroom in a weekend once. It was stressful. I'm sure if he falls behind it will only be a little bit. Congrats on your renovations!!

I am sooo jealous...a new kitchen and new windows...so jealous! Renovating can be so stressful, but it'll be worth it in the end. Hope it goes well with few set backs!

Yay for renovations! I wish I had the extra money to do some stuff to our place. I have years to do this, right? Anyway- Hope they get it done in time and you don't have to deal with issues!

Yeah thanks for the encouragement ladies. The kids and I are at the park right now (on my phone ) and we're just about to leave. We are taking the scenic route so we will get there at 11:20. I hope the two downstairs windows are done. I'm happy it's getting done but the stress of having to do it during dc hours is awful!!

So as I thought only one window (the small one in the kitchen) has been installed. They were caulking the front large window as we were walking up to the house and are installing it now as we speak. I'm setting out lunch now so I'm hoping that they get it installed within the next 30 minutes otherwise naptime will be held back

The kids are already tired and my DS (6 months) who was already asleep when we got here has already been woken up . Oh man, I'm in for a heck of an afternoon

Oh yes it will, I agree. Today has just been a little chaotic. The window is finally in and the kids ate finally down for nap. Nap was actually only about 15 minutes behind. The guys (DH, FIL & contractor buddy) are taking a lunch break so that the kids can take their nap. Today's nap will be shorter however but they're bringing me a burrito to make up fir it so I'm not too upset (it's from my favorite burrito place).
