I will be working as a nanny this fall. When we talked about pricing I thought my prices would be good enough for me to walk home with enough $$$ but after really factoring in the gas $$$, etc I don't think it is. I have already accepted the position BUT we are still in the process of writing up a contract. What is the most tactful way to ask for a little more $$$? I don't want to go back on my word for what I would accept but I hadn't really thought things through. I was thinking of e-mailing the mom or calling her & asking if she would consider a small amount more than what we had discussed. Does that sound terrible? I do have other options in terms of jobs but this is the job I really want b/c it is not full-time. I am registered but did not sign on. . . I think one of my current parents looks on this board & I don't want to give any identifying info away. Thank you for your input.
