I am a member here, but am keeping myself anon, for confidentiality reasons. Dck mom confided in me that her and her husband are having some troubles at home and that their little one is sometimes witness to it all. They are fairly newly married- I believe their little one came into the stars shortly after their honeymoon, and he is not quite 2. But I have noticed over the last two weeks or so, a difference in dck , and this explains it. He's been anxious, not easily settled at nap time, and needing a lot of extra hugs and cuddles. He's even coming up to me randomly in the day to give me a hug and kiss- which isn't a typical daily event for him. But the anxiety and hard time sleeping is what tipped me off that there was something going on.
How would you help calm a little one, while in your care, that's going through a bit of a rough patch at home? [this isn't an abuse matter- but I gather there is lots of yelling and some tears, fueled by loneliness with a baby] He's a very well adjusted boy, very confident and playful and always very happy so this change in personality breaks my heart and I want to do everything in my power to help him stay that happy, confident boy , while his parents resolve their squabbles.
