    Organizing Puzzles

I usually have my hands full with babies, cooking and other things, so I need the preschoolers to be able to get the puzzles themselves and put them away themselves.

Any tips on keeping the puzzles organized?

I have a dishwashing bucket that I keep all of my puzzles in. The kids are able to take it off the shelf by themselves and put it back.

for my wood puzzles I have a puzzle rack that I securely velcroed to a shelf. For jigsaw, carboard puzzles, they are in individual clear containers with the picture from the puzzle box on the front. The children are very good about using them and putting them away on their own.

I keep puzzles in a drawer in 1 of those wide 3-Drawer carts. The drawer can be pulled out or they just reach in and get what they want. Amother drawer has the manipulatives in them in separate zipper bags. The last has blocks.

I have the toddler puzzles in a puzzle rack that only I can reach so they can't dump them.

For the older kids I keep the 25 pieces and up puzzles in individual zip lock bags in a clear plastic tote. I always label the back of each puzzle piece with the number assigned to that puzzle. On the bags I also write how many pieces it contains so we always know which pieces go where.
