    Summer Water Bottles

We are getting ready for summer and have a great water cooler that we can use to take LOTS of cold water outside, I am currently looking for water bottles for all the kids.

I would prefer bottles that are ALL the same color, white would be best! (no fighting)

I am not having any luck at my local store. Not really abig surprise since I live in a small town.

I have found these on Orential Trading and wondered if anyone had experiance with ordering from them or with these bottles? I am also thinking about the mess bags on teh bottom of the page for trips to and from the pool.

    • PERFECT AT EVENTS: Cool and convenient, these smaller water bottles are colorful and includes a handy strap and pop top lid. They're great for kids ...

Those are nice! I love Oriental Trading Co. I order from them all the time. I've thought about ordering those myself. I usually have them bring their own, but I get such a wide variety of sizes and shapes--some are easier to fill or drink from than others. I'd just rather have all the same.

I was hoping to find some at the $1 store bc I only need 15. With these I will have to buy 24. Oh well, it is always great to have extras right?

These are the ones my DH takes to work daily.

They are pricier, at $4 each, however, you could just order 4/4 pkgs and have 16, not 24.

The oriental trading are cheaper, but ....probably the first time someone steps on one, it will bust a whole. That won't happen with the aluminum ones.

I tried those exact ones last year. The little buttons that pull up and down on the top popped off within two weeks; the tops themselves actually loosened up and didn't stay on after awhile. Not to mention the chewing on them...

I'm usually really happy with Oriental Trading and rarely have any issues with things I buy there, but I was really disappointed in these.

I am going to give these a try this year:

I went to the store and bought all green ones. They seem to be decent with a screw on top that flips open. We will see!

:: I tried that option and went back to water bottles. I actually loved the concept, but my outdoor faucet is right on my patio. So the water always was on the concrete with babies crawling through it. Not to mention they were CONSTANTLY playing with it, fighting over who got a drink, etc. I think it would have worked out better if my faucet was in a different location...out of sight, out of mind you know?

thanks you all for the repiles and links! I was org. only looking for the pop top sports bottles as I hove 4 two year olds that have not totaly mastered the open mouthed drinking bottles and didnt want to deal with a very high matnatince two year old freaking out that she spilled water all down her front. I want the kids to have free access to the water and not need lots of supervision to drink.

I think I will reavaluate and look at soem of these options!

                  Thanks Ladies!

I saw that too but we purchased it from Ace Hardware here in my own town. I just posted the link to show what I meant. I am sure another on-line store or even your own local hardware store may carry them. I did find several different kinds while we were looking before we actually purchased.

I can see how that option would not work for you. Luckily, ours is on the side of my house in a grassy area and an area where I can see it but the kids do not play in that area. The kids have to ask before getting a drink and are not allowed to go there without asking first. I also say no if it becomes a game and they are just going to play with it or if it simply becomes a "monkey see; monkey do" thing.

I did not order my DH's bottle, they were available in the store, so maybe slightly different.

The aluminum ones we have, have a straw inside, so they are like a sippy.

I have ordered from them and didn't have a problem. I have not tried those bottles but we have something like them. We also have these cool bottles that have a sandwich compartment attached we use for trips to the park.

As for basic outdoor at the house I have color coded cups and a big container of ice water with the spout at the bottom they just fill as needed so it stays cold in the container. We also freez bottles for walks and the playground so it stays cold and melts as we go.
