Does Anyone do a Parent's Night Out?

Does any daycare providers offer a Parent Night out once a month or?
If you do offer this, can you tell us how much you charge for this- how many hrs. do you do it?
I am thinking about doing this, but not sure of all the details yet on it.
    Thanks for all the help

I have been considering this the last month or so. I was thinking, I don't want to give up too much family time, but the extra money would be nice. I am thinking about giving up one Saturday per month from maybe 2pm on. Overnights welcome for an extra charge. I don't want to deal with a parent coming smelling of alcohol and then getting into an argument about them taking their own child. I am thinking it would be a minimum charge of $20 just to make sure it's worth my time. I was thinking $30 for a full night and $40 for overnight. Under 4 hours would be $20. I would include dinner, crafts and activities.

Yes, I would only do like 6-9 or something like that. I thought of maybe a Fri. evening once a month, if they wanted to take advantage of it.

I thought of Friday, so I didn't have to give up a wkend. But then I was thinking that especially in the winter, after working all day they may not take advantage of it. I don't mean to sound money driven, but I want it to be worth the time I give up with my son.

I am thinking of doing this for my parents but probably only 1-2 x a year & more than likely it will be from 5:00 (normal pick-up time)-7:30 & not be free. I'll just offer it & if they want to take advantage of it they can. My family that I care for has three kids so I'd likely charge $25-30 for the extra 2.5 hrs & feed them dinner & do crafts and a movie.

I only do it once a yr at Christmas time. Mine was just this last Monday. I do from 6-9 free of charge (my gift to the parents) I never pick a Friday cuz that is when my weekend starts.

That is a nice gift put I have 12 children and I would never do that all for free! Not to sound rude but that is a lot of work with no compensation!

Yes, I definately would charge, but I don't know how much an hr. or for how many hrs. to do it for.

Personally, I would not charge per hour. If they are only there for an hour or two would it be worth it to you to give up your family time? Say you charge $4 - $5 per hour. Thats only $8 - $10.

I don't know whether it would be an hrly. rate or just say $20.00 for up to 4 hrs. Would that be too expensive? I wouldn't do it for only $8.00 an evening.

I don't think $20 is too much. You could have a $15 minimum if you think it's too much. At a $20 minimum though at least if you only had one child it would be worth your time.

We do this every 2nd Friday of the month from 5:30-11:00. Most kids are picked up by 10:00 though. We charge $25 for the first child and then $10 for each additional kid. We offer pizza for dinner and then do free play, a quick game or craft and then it's jammie and movie time. They get a snack if they want one. We've had really great success with it!

Who is we? Do you do this with another person? How long did you offer it before parents took you up on it? I am concerned I will set time aside and end up with maybe only one child. Does it work out well twice per month or do you sometimes think monthly would get better results?

My friend and I do it. We started doing babysitting for our friends and it turned into a daycare setting after a few months. I'm in the process of getting my license right now but we still offer the PNO once a month. We had 2 families of at least 2 kids the first month as well as the second month. The third month was one family but 3 of their kids were here so it was worth it.
