If you go online to the dhs website, they have a checklist that the worker uses when they're doing the inspection. I printed it out and made sure I was good with all of them--it is more specific than the rule book. Also make sure your paperwork is all good--they are ALL aboout the paperwork!

A great resource is your local Community Child Care Council. Type 4C's MI into your search engine or find a link from the mi.gov/dhs/childcare website. They were an invaluable resource for me when I was opening my daycare and continue to be with trainings, resourcing, coaching and networking. Good Luck with your new endeavor.
