    Internet Bill Pay

Does anyone use bill pay through their bank?

Any reasons not to use it? I track everything through MMK anyway so I can't imagine this to cause any trouble at tax time but just wondering if anyone has any ideas/advice on using this service?

So far, I love it, I can get everything paid in 1-2 min and check the status of all old payments etc.

Yes I do this. I love it because I have an iPhone with the mobile apps to my banks and I can sit down while I eat, rock a baby, stand in line for something etc. and pay my bills. I don't however use the automatic bill-pay. I like to choose the day that I pay the bills.

I've been doing it since Wells Fargo started it in early 1990s. Never had a problem with it. It helps to schedule payments if you go on vacation. Love the iPhone apps too.

I love the apps too. Especially taking pictures of my checks from anywhere and depositing them.

I love Wells Fargo bill pay too. I have my business, personal checkign and savings, business partners checking, morgage, personal loan, and line of credit all tied together so I just transfer all money as needed.

They also have a great option that if your payee doesnt except onlime payments they will write the check and mail it to them for you. This is how I pay my garbage each month since htey dont support online payments. Check is always to them on the right day. I even have one family that pays me this way. I revcieve the check on the 1st of the month with out fail.

              Yes and I love it.

I only write a handful of checks a year like to the vet or handyman that does work on the house.

                I Love online bill pay!!!

I do mine manually, though, not through a banks scheduled pay.

My pay checks can be erradic because of my other job and I don't want to have to reset those options all the time. I know I will forget at some point or other, I have seen me do it.

Manually I can juggle as needed and pay more as I can afford. I like to overpay to knock off interest on my credit accounts and build credits on my utilities just in case.
                - Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.

I use it to with my local credit union. I started about 2 yrs ago and I would not give it up It makes everything so simple. I don't do it automatic either I do it manually on the days I choose. Save a lot of money in stamps to.

This is exactly what I do. I have been using online bill pay for at least 9 years and have never had a problem. I think I write about 3 checks a year.

We also use it. Something else to consider is this is something you get free for being a bank customer. We have to pay a per check fee for each check we write on our business account. We can access all of our accounts online and move money from one to another if needed, and set up monthly payments that will automatically be paid without having to remember them each month. This works good for payments that are fixed amounts. We also have other items auto pay which has the payee taking care of getting paid and again we don't have to remember it.

Money of course must be in account to cover or they will be ISF charges just like writing a bad check. I use debit card for everything - hardly ever have real (?) money on my person anymore.

Me neither. I feel safer not handling cash anyway and I don't feel so bad when people ask me for money. I can honestly say that I don't carry cash.(pan-handlers, my mother, my sister etc :. I don't even have paper checks. That's all done through online bill-pay.

When I do get paid in cash I deposit that in my account as well. It helps me keep track of cash better anyway. I always seem to misplace cash and wash it with the laundry when I don't.
