2 New Kids Starting This Tuesday

I have two new families starting Tuesday (Both 2y olds) and I'm freaking out a little. I have four kids currently and that's all I've had since beginning of November so it's going to be a big change to have two new kids. Neither have been at daycare before (were currently going to family members houses).

I assume just go with out normal schedule and they can participate if they want? I'm really hoping they don't cry too much at drop off (None of the 4 I have now did) and I hope they nap good. (One sleeps in a crib at home so he will have to get used to a nap mat here)

    Any tips??

How did two separate families both randomly get enrolled on a Tuesday? I bet you'll do great. Make sure to tell your current kids they have new friends joining soon.

Just be patient. Thats going to be a job to get two kids adjusted when neither have been to daycare. I hope at least one of them is easy going! Keep us updated!

I agree, good luck! I think they will do great. I would make sure to tell the current kids we have two new friends and they need to be super friendly and make sure to teach them how to have fun (be good) at daycare. If you give them their special task of helping teach them, they may be on their best behavior!

I just posted the other day with something similar. I don't want to discourage you, but we had a 2 and 3 yr old start, siblings, who had never been to daycare before. It's been tough so far! They have a lot to get used to. Mostly the rules, and how we do things. And nap time is very very difficult with them. So my advice for you is from the very first day DO NOT be any more lenient on the rules with them, than you are the others. If you are, they'll continue to think they don't have to follow those rules. The first day I tried to be "understanding" and easier on them since it was their first day and they seemed shy and all that. Didn't want them to have a bad first day with a mean teacher getting after them all the time. Now I have a feeling that the reason their second day was so horrible was because I'd messed up the first day. Now to see how next week goes.
Are your two new ones full time? I sure hope so, I really think children do a lot better in daycare when it's an every day thing. Our two new ones have random days: Here one day, off one day, here two days, off three days. So it's going to be really really hard to get them adjusted to our rules and routines.
Good luck! I'm sure you'll have them adjusted in no time! Your some what smaller group should make it a little easier. Let us know how their first day goes!
