I love living in the USA and I think it is a wonderful country. I cried with joy the day I became a US citizen. But I am proud of my British roots too.
However....I have noticed something rather sad in my 30 years here. A general consensus that anything that goes on outside the USA is not relevant or important. It is wonderful to be patriotic. I wave my US flag with the best of them on July 4th.... But I hate to admit this........I DO understand how other countries get annoyed by the ever constant "we're bigger and better than you" vibe they often get from the USA. We may well BE bigger and better...but do we have to announce it? I think I'm better looking than my next door neighbor...but I'm not about to tell her so........:

I will be enjoying the fluff and frivolity of the wedding tomorrow. It's nice to forget the troubles of the world for a moment and believe in princes and princesses.......
