    Sleeping Arrangements?

Separate rooms or all in one room? . I'm realizing that there is so much I still haven't thought about.

I have bedrooms upstairs I can use for nap time, as well as a large living room. Would it make sense to have younger children (under 2) upstairs with baby monitors so they aren't disturbed by older kids who may not sleep as long?

I've started some minimal advertising, just seeing if there is any interest, and I want to be prepared to answer any questions that come up.

I have a dedicated nap room where everyone sleeps. I use white noise to drown out incoming noise from my family. This works best for me because my DD doesn't nap and I don't want to have to struggle to keep her quiet; plus, my DH's old schedule had him home for the afternoon--mostly during naptime--and I didn't want to infringe on anything *he* wanted to do (like watch TV, etc). It works out really well for us.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

Where I live on L.I. the children have to be on the same floor as I am. The thinking is if there is a fire I can get them out much quicker. I have 2 kids in my dining room and 2 in my den all in Pack n Plays. I play music to drown out the noise.

I have an extra bedroom they all sleep in, except one. She is my screamer. She sleeps in a Pnp in my bedroom, as she cries to go to sleep, wakes up and cries at least twice and goes back to sleep. She also screams when she wakes up, so she gets her "own" room until she is old enough to be told not to scream.

I have two large bedrooms that are my daughter's rooms and naprooms. One has 2 twin beds and a PNP. The other has a double bed, a cot and a PNP. I also use the playroom if needed. There is a PNP and 2 cots in the closet.

I also have a state regulation that says that I must at least be on the same floor as all of the kids (CA) so we all nap on mats in the living room. Call me lucky but I have them all in the same room regardless of age and it has always worked for me.

At the moment I only have one infant (my own 4 month old) in a p&p and all of the rest sleep on mats, even the the now 21 month old started sleeping on a mat once he turned 12 or 13 months (because he wanted to be like the rest of the kids) and they all sleep fine. As soon as I start laying all of the mats out and putting their blankies on them (they each have 2 small blankets that only they use) they all start laying down on their own.

I am currently unlicensed so I do what works for me. Everyone is in their own pack n play and in their own room. We have lots of space here so its not an issue. My group is quite young so I have never been able to get more than two to sleep well in the same room and only a certain combination of kids work.

I have everyone that are on mats together. But the infants have their own rooms for sleeping.

My three infants all have rooms of their own with their own cribs seperate from the daycare room, while my toddlers sleep on their own individual sleep mats in the playroom with the curtains closed.

My state doesn't allow for daycare children to sleep in my children's bedrooms. They all sleep in the living room and I have to be in the room with them or within sight and hearing of them during nap time. If I had them in different rooms, I would be written up.
Having them all in the same room works fairly well. The hardest one's in this scenario are then infants. It can be tough, but for the most part they are on the same nap schedule as the older kids.
