So the day started with one child throwing up all over me. Next one of my darling dcg's drew doodles all over an important paper she nabbed off the counter. Next another child threw up all over me, herself, and the side of the pnp, and oozed diarrhea out the leg of her diaper and up her back, and again all over me. Then my 1 year old dcb had a seizure out of the blue! He had just woken up from a nap and eyes rolled back and he started convulsions. It was the most horrible moment I have ever had with a child. So now all the emt's, first responders, and ambulance drivers are gone, the rest of the children are all napping and I am waiting to hear about dcb. Definitely worst day ever!
The worst day ever!

I've had a child have a seizure while in my care before, it was a fairly common thing with him but it still freaked me out as I've never experienced this before. His mother got P*ssed at me for calling 911. She even yelled at the paramedics when they were talking to her on the phone, she didn't want him transported to the hosital, she said he just needed time to pull out of it. His seizure stopped before the medics arrived, but he stayed zoned out and was non responsive. The medics finally got the okay to transport him... mom didn't want to leave work and even told the medic that she would come to the hospital after work so he best hang with her kid! UGH!!! And yep, at her normal pick up time she arrived for her older son and said she had not been to the hospital yet.... had I known she was serious and this not even 3 year old little boy was all alone at the hospital I would have of closed and went there myself. He ended up being admitted and kept in the hospital for 2 days. I called my licensor, nothing I could do regarding moms behavior.
A couple weeks later her older son spilled on himself and went to the other room to put on a dry shirt... he didn't know which was the front or the back so he came out to ask me... when he turned around to leave, I noticed his back.... it was bruised and had red welty cuts on it.... some looked new some looked old. OMG. I asked him what happened and he was afraid to share but did share enough that his mom was hitting him with a belt.
I called my licensor and social services... I informed the mom that I called and reported her....and what was really weird, she wanted to continue to bring her kids to me?? I allowed them to continue to come because I cared about the kids and figured they needed someone that would continue to look after their well being... that lasted two weeks and she was fired from her job. I later heard the older son went to live with his father. He'd be in his twenties now... I hope the rest of his childhood was happy.- Flag

I'm so sorry to hear about your dayI have had two children have seizures in my care and it is really scary. One went in the ambulance and the other ended up going to the hospital with her parents. Both times were really upsetting. I hope you are able to have some relaxation time this weekend and everything goes smoothly next week. (((Hugs)))

a friend of mine had a to call 911 when one of her DC kids had a severe allergic reaction and the mom was upset. She said the provider overreacted because this happened all the time (which the provider did not know). She didn't come to check on her kid or allow her to be transported to the hospital, she wanted her left at daycare.- Flag

That sounds awful!! Ugh, what a day!
Get yourself something deliciously indulgent tonight, take a long, hot bath/shower, and rejoice that it's Friday at least.
Hope your little dcb is all right and your afternoon goes better!Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!- Flag
