So I gave the term notice for the "just show up on my doorstep" dcf. Dcm showed up to pick up dcg instead of the dad like I thought for sure was gonna happen. Even though hes the one with most of my issues (dcm is no saint either) it was harder to terminate to the mother then the father I think.
She was visibly upset and asked if we could sit down and discuss things or if mom and grandma would start bringing dcg if that would work. I stood firm and said nope. Showed her the letter and the termination area highlighted and told her Tuesday was the nail and today was it being nailed into the coffin. She was flustered and confused about pay as it stated that I also require two weeks payment even if dcg does not come. I had it calculated for her minus the enrollement fee and had to tell her that she owed X amount for the total two weeks, not weekly.
There was a long pause, I changed my tune back to my cherry self and said "dcg was just changed and didnt seem interested in a bottle, see you guys in the morning!". She hung her head and said "yeah, see you".
I felt bad for a minute but then my family and I sat down to dinner and were discussing all my issues and I felt justified so I no longer feel bad. Yeah if she comes tomorrow itll be awkward but Ill go business as usual. Hopefully this is a learning experience for them as they should know this is how you dont treat people, especially people who take care of your child 10hrs a day. I learned to stand my ground and am going to try and be more assertive from this day on.
She did pay for today though so thats nice. If dcg doesnt come anymore then no salt off my shoulders. Im just too tired about this to care.
Heres a list of their issues just from January alone:
1/17 arrived at 7:15a even though I was unaware of early arrival. Parent texted me but I did not receive it because I was sleeping and dcd brought her anyways.'
1/17 no payment given
1/18 got up early anticipating her early arrival. No dcg as of 11a
1/18 texted dcm to ask if everything was ok and dcm was confused because dcg was supposed to be at my house. She called dcd. Dcd brought dcg over at 11:30am. No payment given
1/26 dcg arrived and dcd said he gave her cold drops but wasnt aware why he gave them to her. Asked if she was running a fever he said "not anymore". When I said shed have to go home he said mom would get her. No one showed up to get her till late.
1/28 dcg arrives without diapers Ive verbally been asking for a 2 days. Father runs home 20 min away to get some from their stash. When asked why he didnt just go to the grocery up the street he said dcm didnt leave him any cash.
1/31 Informed that Id be giving dcg a neb treatment and mom is happy cause I can be written off. Never informed of this again
2/1 Ice storm with snow emergency. Dcg arrives. Inform dcf our driveway is bad, not text/phone call back. 4:45 pm get a call dcm slid into a ditch and would be late. 6:15 dcg is picked up. Still have not received signed paperwork for the new year.
2/3 OT payment for the 1st not paid. Grandma picks up dck. Have not seen dcm since Monday.
2/9 late fee for the 1st received
2/10 VM that dcg would be dropped off at 7:30-8am on friday.
2/11 Dcg arrived at 9:15am
2/15 long vm that dcd is no longer allowed to pick up dcg. Family issue, cops were called and dcm pressed charges.
2/24 Late pickup at 6p.
3/2 Got a text at 3:27am stating dcg would be in at 10 as mother is home sick. Dcg shows up at 11a
3/3 Got a call at 6:48a saying dcg will be there in a hour. Dcg shows up at 7:10
3/7 had a discussion with dcm about dcg constant chewing. Dcm feels its teething.
3/8 Woke up to the doorbell at 7a. Grandma had dcg to drop off. Dcm informed me dcg would be in at 7:30a.
3/10 woke up at 6:45 anticipating dcg, she doesnt arrive till 7:30
3/15 was still getting ready when grandma arrived early with dcg
3/18 Dcm AND dcd arrive. They are back together. All H3ll will break lose.
3/23 As of 8a dcg is not here. No call or text from parent. I text to see when she will be here. 8:15 rolls around and dcg comes.
3/24 Dcm says she will get dcg at 4. Arrives at 5:15
3/25 Doorbell rings at 7:15 a and dcd is dropping off dcg. Husband is told to disconnect the doorbell.
3/25 Inform dcm dcg needs wipes monday
3/28 Dcg arrives late at 8:45, dcd drops off diapers I dont need but no wipes that I do need.
3/29 as of 8:30 am no dcg. Call dcm, no answer. Text her and say whats going on? No answer. 9am I leave and text her again saying "im leaving". Get a call at 10 asking if dcd dropped off dcg. I say "dont know as I was gone". Dcd shows up at 10:30. Dcg in bad dirty diaper
Today: END OF THE WORLD
Sorry so long but this is how its been and looking back I dont even know why I have a darn contract. Not like I enforce anything. Am I right?
UGH when I look at it this way, Im going to start carrying around a ruler and smack dcp hands whenever they get out of line. Time to re-think the way I dont handle things.
