Ok, I'm From The South And Gotta Ask????

What are "splash pants"? I've seen them mentioned several times in the last few days. It must be a northern "wet" thing. I've never heard of them.

I live in the northwest where it rains a lot, and I've never heard of them.

They are like our wind pants. Plastic, vinyl, water resistant pants.

Thanks, Guess that term hasn't made it to Arkansas :: Or, since my kids are grown, I'm not familiar with it.

Yep, just pants that are windproof and hopefully waterproof to keep them dry. My yard is mud from when the snow melts (early March) until the end of April and they would be cold and wet with ruined clothes without them. They get too warm in snowpants this time of year.

Thanks. I'm from the midwest and had never heard of them either. Don't feel bad Sandee, it's not just you.

Seeing as my backyard was a sea of mud/standing water earlier this week, I could have used some, though! Now I'll go back to my snowpants because we have a fresh blanket of new snow. I don't think spring is ever coming! We've been snow covered for nearly 5 months with more snow in the forecast.

::::::SandeeAR, I had to laugh when I read your post. I'm up North and I've never heard of them, but I get why you might think that! My hubby is from South Carolina and we always bicker (lovingly of course) about our different terminology.

                    kitty corner.....catty corner

It's pop not soda. :: I never understood why someone would call pop soda. I can't imagine the words "Get me a can of soda" ever coming out of my mouth. ::::::::

I thought the term "soda" was just an American thing -- I guess it's a little more specific than that! That'll teach me to stereotype ::

I think pop is a Mid-West thing. When I was in California, I asked the waiter what kind of pop they had.....he had NO CLUE what I was talking about! :::: I then said Coke, and he got it.

Another one that I've heard is strictly a MN are thing is "duck duck grey duck" instead of "duck duck goose." My husband was all upset when I taught my kids how to play "duck duck grey duck" ::

Dh and I are from NY and when we were stationed in Louisiana they called everything soda or coke.

"Would you like a coke? Ok we have sweet tea, mt dew, sprite. What kind of coke would you like?"

Uhhhh the brown kind that says pepsi on it? The soda thing too always got us. ITS POP people. I have baking soda in my fridge and cabinet. Thats the only "soda" I had heard of.
"Being a parent is wanting to hug and strangle your kid at the same time".

Yeah, in Arkansas we call it all "coke" too. You ask, tea, coke or water? If they say Coke, then you tell them, well I have, coke, pepsi, mt dew, sprite, etc.

Most drive thrus are used to folks just saying coke and then they will say we carry Pepsi, is that ok?
