    Infant Carriers

Does anyone use infant carrier during the day? Either sling, or buckle style?

I use mine all the time with my daughter, so I imagine if I get any infants in my care I will use it with them as well, for trips to the park, playing in the yard, etc.

I use mine every day with the daycare kids. Right now, I mostly use a Pouch (hotsling) or a Mei tai.

When it's a tiny baby, I use a wrap or a ring sling, but those aren't really my favorites.

I have a friend who does daycare, and she loves the buckle carriers (Ergo, and Babyhawk buckle carrier) But, I've never tried those. They look hard to use, so I've never looked into those.

I use a wrap when they are itty bitty and a Boba carrier (like ergo but better) when we are outside and they are bigger. Makes my life SOOOOO much easier on walks and on the playset.

If you can wear a backpack, you can use a buckle carrier. I promise! I am so advanced now I can get kids on and off my back alone.

I should try a buckle carrier. I saw a woman at the library with a "Snap" from Babyhawk, and it looked so cute on her. But, I still have a hard time seeing me trying to get the buckles in the right place.

You only unbuckle the chest and waist clips. The other buckles stay put just like a backpack.

Super small babes go in wraps or ring slings. Upright and tummy to tummy. After a little while I'd be comfortable wrapped on my back, but I have been wrapping kiddos since I was 20 and well, that was a long time ago. Buckles or mei tais on my back once they have really good head control only because it's easier than wrapping when you have 5 or so kids to keep my eye on while getting baby situated.

Thank being said, I made the decision last month to not accept under 18m. For other reasons.

I have an Angel Pack buckle carrier, and I love it. It's easy to use. I'm glad to hear people use them at daycare, I know it will make my day 100% easier. I wasn't sure if some parents who weren't familar with carriers would have concerns.

I need to buy one I can use on my back, so I'm browsing around.

I used a beco (similar to Ergo) or a Mai Tai all the time with my own kids. I didn't use them too much for daycare kids though. I'm very AP with my own kids, but not so much with dck.

Oh good, so I'm not the only one!

I really want an Ergo, Beco, or Babyhawk for this baby, but I haven't decided which and they're expensive...I keep haunting the area Once Upon a Child stores, hoping for find one second-hand, but no luck so far.

I use my pouch sling nearly everyday. I have a 21 month old who is picked on alot by her 3.5 year old sister and she needs extra snuggles alot. I just sling her she can snuggle to her heart's content while I can keep my hands free. She rides on my back when I have things to do and loves it.

I honestly don't know what I did before I discovered the pouch sling. It makes things soo easy for me. Going for a walk and someone is tired? I whip out the sling, pop them on my hip or back and sling 'em. Even when they're 3+.

It's also wonderful for new little ones that need lots of love those first few days. I used to get a little frustrated with the way I could get nothing done the first couple of weeks with newbies but with the sling its much easier.

Thebabywearer.com has a for sale or trade board. If you keep watching, the the thing you want will show up. Plus you can learn more about them before deciding what you want.

Moby wrap for smaller babies, and ergo for bigger babies.

Yup! That's where I get my fix There are so many different work-at-home-mom made ones too. I used to sew for one of them that is now out of business. I love seeing the carriers I made passed loving around like fine pieces of jewelry.

I carried my DD in an ergo for the first year of her life, especially when all the dck's were here. I had all 3-5 year old boys that year, and I was afraid they would step on her, etc. I plan to do the same thing with this next baby (ring sling for the first few months). If I ever take a young dck, I will wear them too, but I don't know if i'll ever take a child under 18mo's again.

I use a wrap sling (short one so on a hip carry) or a meitai. I'm looking into getting a pouch again too.
