diareah question- parent picking up soon - help quick

Child had it yesterday and mom said he gets it from antibotics so I let him stay since he had been on them for ear infection. Talked to dad today and he said child just ended them. Now this afternoon more diareah. would that happen when it's done or is he sick and needs not come back tomorrow.

acting fine otherwise. tomorrow is just him and his sister here but I don't want it this weekend if it's sickness.

I think it would depend on what "just ended them" means. If it was in the last 24 hours, I would say that it's still from the antibiotic, because that's been my experience.

Yes, I agree. I think it needs at least 24 hours to get out of their systems, maybe longer?

Have you tried yogurt? Our ped advised us of this to correct the balance of bacteria they need in their stomachs to digest food.

okay, good to know. It was just weird that he's been on it for over a week and fine and now he's not at the end of it.

Some antibiotics take as many as 10 days to completely clear the system. This would not be uncommon..

The B.R.A.T. diet and plenty of clear fluids may help it exit a bit faster, though.
