just got a call at 645am

from an old client wanting to know if her ds can come over because there are no buses running. I would have said yes, BUT he's 10.5 yrs old. Way too old for my group and my kids would rather hang out with the littles (yes they love the littles) then she said that oh, " I guess you aint watching the older ones in the summer " um NO! at 11yrs old, he's too old and he was way too bored here last year and didn't want to do anything (not even swim in my pool) my ds (he's 8) was annoyed by him and didn't want me to watch him. I know she was mad, but I feel bad because I've had him for 6 yrs but come on he's almost 11 yrs old, way too old for here.

Good for you for standing your ground. I have a really hard time saying "no" to parents, but this forum has given me some strength to stick up for myself after reading about what all of you have done in certain situations.
