    Last Day of Daycare

I am going to be going off to have my baby at the end of April. I am no longer going to be doing daycare. I have 2 families that I have had their kids for 2 years and another family who I also really care about (I just have the 3 families). I would like to do something special for them, but I really DON'T have a lot of money--I could afford a little bit, but really not much. Any suggestions would be really helpful! I was thinking maybe pictures or something like that, but I gave them all photo albums at Christmas already...Thanks!

You could make T-shirts for the kids with a group picture of everybody including you on the front of the shirt. They could maybe decorate it with their hand-prints as well. It's a nice and cheap keepsake to remind them of the time they spent with you.

What about one good group photo (including you, as Zoe suggested), with someone holding a sign with the name of your Daycare or "Mrs. ____'s daycare, 2011", and placed in a frame? You can get decent frames at walmart, Target, or heck, even the dollar store for pretty cheap.

I got a class photo as a thank you last year for being my child's room parent, and the kids were holding up signs that spelled out "thank you". It is SOO cute, and I really treasure it and have it displayed at my house.

I would think a nice thank you card for sharing your children with me and a picture of the group would be good.

I make pillowcases for kids leaving my care.

Just on a regular solid color pillow case - all of the kids, me and my pets all make a handprint with fabric paint around the edges. With a fabric marker, I write everyone's name beside their handprint.

Then with computer iron-on transfers, I print out this little poem and iron it on in the center of the handprints:

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I count these hands instead of sheep
And dream of friends I called my own
When I spent my days, at Pammie's home.

They're relatively inexpensive to make - and since all of your dc kids will be leaving at about the same time, one morning of art time and all of your painting can be completed:-)

Best wishes to you and your family!!

I go to Walmart.com and go into their photo center. Then I make a collage. I use photos of the kids that I've taken over their time here and give that to them as a "goodbye". They are inexpensive and the parent's love it.
