What if anything would you do about this...

I have a 4yr dcb that I allow to watch a show during naptime.
I set him up in the family room and then I go sit with the others in another room until they are asleep.
Today i walked in (he didn't see me) to see him with his pants unzipped, his privates out and he was attempting to put a Barbie dress on his privates.

he did not see me and rather than humilate him I turned around and came back in making enough noise so he knew I was coming. He was put together before I reached the room.

What if anything would you do about this?

Okay, that is just TOO funny! I can just picture the thought process that went through his head as he was doing it, too...:: "I wonder what would happen if..."

I wouldn't do anything about it for this one time, but I would probably keep a closer eye on him and if it becomes a habit, sit down and have a talk with him. My guess is that it was a one-time experimentation kind of thing, though.

And maybe clean up the Barbie bits before nap, .

sorry no help with this. I mean it's gross because he was putting toys on it. But he did it in private right? isn't that the big thing, that it's in private?

Sorry I just think it's funny. I remember dh trying to stick it in a tp roll because that's how you tell average size apparently! .

First of all I would wash the barbie dress,... Then I would keep him in sight. But here all kids must be within sight and sound at all times.

This wasn't really private - it is the main room in my house. I mean, granted he was indeed alone...
I really see NOTHING wrong with what he was doing. I found it funny too.
I am incredibly open to self exploration and curiousity. But in a daycare setting I just don't know how open I can be. If this was my own child I would have said something on the spot about "yeah I know it feels good - but this is family space and if you and your penis need time then you should spend that time in your room with your penis"

OMG, the things that boys and men do..:::::::: It's hilarious because NONE of this surprises me! Both your husband and op's dcb!

A friend of mine this past week got a call from her son's school saying that he was telling his friends in the bathroom, "If you can pee into the urinal from 10 feet away then you can come to my birthday party" Sigh...

To the op, no I wouldn't do anything about it. It seems perfectly harmless the fact that he was "experimenting" with a doll and not another kid. Just keep an eye on him!
