    Dogs in home daycare

Quick question...does anyone know is it is legal to have 2 dogs in a home daycare setting in New York State? I am having problems finding this information. Thanks in advance!

Any pet or animal kept indoors or outdoors at the family day care home must be in good health, show no evidence of carrying disease, and pose no threat to children. This provision also applies to those pets or animals present at the home which do not belong to the caregivers.

    this is what I found

I'm not from NY but I do know that a lot of the daycare liability policies just restrict the type of dogs. Certain breeds like bull mastiff and pit bull are not allowed for example.

I know NYS Licensed Home Centers that have big dogs, so it must be ok.

Have you read the Family Provider Handbook yet? It can be found here:

Hopefully it will answer all of your questions!
