    Liability Insurance

I am wondering how much liability coverage is customary for a home-style day care for 5 kids, ages 3 to 5. I have no clue how much coverage I need. Would anyone mind sharing what kind of coverage you have for a home day care?

I use Thomco. There is also Hays.
Thomco is around $450/year, Hays is $264/year. I know big difference.
Anyway, I'd go with at least a $3 million per occurence policy, if you can afford more, do more.

In my province if you're registered with child care resource & referral you get a break on coverage, so for $5,000,000 coverage I pay about $370/yr or so.

Mines with State Farm. Our house, cars, snowmobile & life insurance is with them so we get a discount for having multiple coverage. I think we pay $200 or less a year.

I have my daycare insurance coverage through Adults & Childrens Alliance. I forget off the top of my head what coverage is and how much it was, but it if I remember correctly it was less than $300/yr and included covering transportation. I'll have more info later. Good deal though.
Give a little love to a child, and you get a great deal back.

I'm in Canada, the company I use is called Pacific Care. Unless you happen to live in BC, I don't think that's going to help you unfortunately hehe.
