    Just so you know...

4 Hours in high in your crockpot is not enough to cook potato cubes for beef stew. Just thought I'ld share!!

Did you cook them on low, because it should be enough on high I would think. Did that run your lunch???

      Was your lid sealed?

I usually start mine by 6am...

My old one used to cook so much faster... I think the newer models just are not as good or maybe that is what people wanted...

I always hear the "slower you cook, the better it is"... idk

      Sorry, hun...

That is so funny, I cant believe this came up today. I have beef stew in my crockpot, and I didn't have time to chop the potatoes this morning, so I was going to throw them in now (1pm) to have them ready for supper. I guess i'll parboil them first. Thanks for the heads up.

Yep, it was on high. It is new, so maybe it doesn't cook as fast. We ended up doing scrambled eggs and ham. Didn't occur to me till they were almost done that I should have made them green eggs! Nothing like scrambling right at lunch time for a new plan!
