    Can You Check Your Thermometer

    What?

Sent child home because 101.1 yesterday.
100.5 today after the tylenol wore off.

    Won't eat, won't drink, cries.

    But - I can't give him tylenol.

    Oh-my-gosh.

Oh yeah, I checked the thermometer on two other children. Works fine.

This is why I always check their temp TWICE with two thermometers.. one digital and one glass.

I've had the same problem this week...
Child's fever was only 99.4, but he felt AWFUL and you could tell. Called mom, who's a nurse. She said, "Oh, fever is 101.4. That's not fever. He'll be fine." UH, REALLY?!
I think parents just don't want to have to deal with it!!

Child should not have returned today. Our policy is 24 hours without fever. If they are sent home with a fever they do NOT return the next day.
