I don’t publicly thank anyone for the gifts I receive from parents on my Facebook group. I just send a thank-you text. Now I’m wondering if I should be mailing a thank-you card?

Personally I never write thank you cards for Christmas gifts. A simple thank you is enough.

Birthdays etc gifts yes of course. Christmas...nah

I think it’s what your custom is. I try to do thank you cards for Xmas too for my Dcf. Not for my family members though
