    Holiday Contract Wording

I have in my contract if a holiday falls on a Saturday we get the Friday before off and if it falls on a Sunday we get Monday after off. Do you consider Easter a holiday? Would you take Monday after off?

    Thanks for your help.

I have that policy in my handbook but I've never used it for Easter since most people have to work that Monday.

I don't close Easter Monday, but I do close for Good Friday. Here many of the schools are closed on Good Friday as a "spring break day" or it is the last day of spring break week.

Through my own experience and asking parents, I have found companies are 50/50 when closing for Good Friday.

I don't close for it since it is not a Federal Holiday.

We close Good Friday and Easter Monday since none of us ever close for vacation. It's in our handbook though so no one gets upset about it.

It seems fair to me. They are getting a deal.

I take all federal holidays, Christmas Eve, Black Friday and two full weeks (one spring, one fall) each year paid.

I also have four training, two appointment and unpaid emergency sick days built-in. (although I rarely need to use them)

I take Good Friday & "Easter Monday" off as "Easter Break." Most of the time I've had no days or just one day off since New Year's Day so I'm more than ready for a break by Easter!

Same here. By the time Easter rolls around I am more than ready for a break.

I close both the Friday and Monday but so do schools. It's not a stat day holiday, but I take it as such and have Easter Monday and Good Friday both as holidays in my contract.
