Getting started w/ schedule, help, newb

I need to create a daycare schedule, 5 days of activities, games, learning (chinese, English, math), and make efficient to not waste time. The math and chinese teachers are taking care of curriculum for those days, but I am the english teacher. This is a summar program, 10 weeks. Elementary school level.

This is a new program, and I am not the one dealing with the business side of it. I majored in something completely different from this. How do I do this? How do I get started?

    Welcome!

That is great that your program can offer so many languages for summer school. I hope you get some great advice.

Is the program going to be half days, or full days? I would call some local schools for a basic school schedule and modify. I do think that summer school should have more 'fun' segments than the basic school year.

Thank you for the welcome. These are full days, though I suppose it is possible that a mom will want to take her kid home after half a day. I need to schedule for a full day though, 9-5, so not a 12 hour day though. I was thinking some theater would be fun to throw in, and I think I read another daycare had crafts or something. I was going to address the what in the curriculum forum if that makes more sense. How much time is good to spend on each type of activity? Do elementary school kids just need one nap/rest time?

On a side note, I never went to a regular public school here, so my understanding of some ages may be lacking more than in some. I tutored/taught middle school/jr. high at an enrichment program. My background is business, but I tutored as much as I did office work when I was in school.
