    Contract redo: Potty Training

Does this make sense to you guys? I know what I'm trying to say, but want to make sure it is clear? I've taken things from about 4 or 5 contracts and then added some of my own to come up with this LOL.

    Potty Training

When you feel your child is ready for toilet training, I ask that you begin this at home the weekend before coming back to care. I will be happy to follow through and encourage your child while in my care. I will only use pull-ups or training pants with plastic pants. NO underwear until you child has been dry with NO accidents for 2 weeks.

Your child MUST tell me that they need to go potty. I will ask them if they need to go potty on a regular basis. In the first week or two, I will take them to the potty on a regular basis. After that, once they understand what I am asking, I will not take a child on a schedule. Taking a child on a schedule trains the adult, not the child.

I also ask that during potty training, the child be dressed in “user friendly” clothing. The best items during this time are shorts/pants with an elastic waist, or dresses for girls. Please avoid onesies, tight clothing, pants with snaps and zippers and overalls.

I would avoid dresses for girls.
One that can't see their underwear to pul them down or pull up
Two it's a lot of material to hold up when trying to pee.
Three if they have an accident there's nothing to help hold it in

Just speaking from my personal mistakes and experiences

Ok, somebody, Please....... comment. It's been looked at 45 times and only one comment? Do you guys totally disagree? Is it worded that bad?? What??? I'm asking for input here. Please. I'm simply looking for a way to word it so the parents understand, this is their job, I'm just the support system.

If it helps here is my toilet training section:

        Toilet Training

Please inform me when you feel your child is ready to begin toilet training. I ask that the parent begin training the weekend before introducing it in care. Please insure that your child is wearing loose fitting sweat pants, or leggings during training. Please provide me with three complete changes of clothing including socks.

        Transition to underwear:
I expect that your child meet the following criteria before wearing underwear to daycare,
        1. Vebalizes the need to go potty
        2. Stay dry for a period of two hours
        3. No accidents for two full weeks

I require a naptime diaper for the first 30 days following underwear. We can then try to transition to naptime dryness.

Both are similar, but I think the second one is just a bit more clear. Would you mind if I include it in my paperwork?

              Jessrlee,

Thanks so much for posting your info. I just don't understand why no one else would post theirs. I really as looking for some help, as I didn't really like the way mine was worded.

I plan to use alot of your wording also. Is the PP said, it says a lot of the same as mine, only clearer.

              Thanks Again!
